XFDOS
Graphical User Interface for MS-DOS
This is XFDOS by Georg Potthast, a DOS GUI using the SLWM window manager and some FLTK apps.
It's a nice looking desktop and has quite a few apps bundled with it.
It has an issue somewhere in that some of the bundled apps work and some don't.
The File Manager, Calculator, Writer, Text Editor, Music Player, Image Viewer and Game work OK but the Browser, Paint program, PDF Reader and Spreadsheet don't work.
Interestingly though, if the apps that don't work are executed from within the Windows 3.1 File Manager, they work.
XFDOS also runs DOS apps from it's File Manager.
I found the mouse and GUI refresh to be a bit laggy, but that may just be VirtualBox.
Basic config options, but still a nice looking GUI.
I've attached a .zip file with the VirtualBox VHD and another .zip file with the install files and a few disk image files that will help with any install.
When you run the VHD in VirtualBox there's a prompt to continue and load XFDOS, or quit to DOS.
If you quit to DOS you can run Windows 3.1 by typing WIN.
The VHD was created using VirtualBox 6.1.26 and the DOS version installed is 6.22 with Cute Mouse loaded.
