HyperDOS

Graphical User Interface for MS-DOS

This is HyperDOS Desktop v2.0 by Leading Technology from around 1991, another text based GUI for DOS.

While the files in the archive are dated 2005, from what I've found on the net the actual release date seems to be around 1991.

This one is quite well done (after you get used to the text based GUI) and has a good selection of programs.

Includes a Help function, Program Manager to add program shortcuts, File Manager, shortcuts to commonly used DOS functions, Calculator, Notepad, Writer, Address Book and others.

However there are no GUI configuration options, such as display resolution or colour.

Quite a functional piece of work with most of the basics included.

I suspect this may have been either a commercial or bundled product back in the day.

Leading Technology either manufactured or sold PC's with their brand name or the PC Partner name in the 1990's, so HyperDOS may have been bundled with some of them.

The GUI will load on startup. If you need to load it again,
cd to C:\HyperDOS and enter "HyperDOS".

As well as the VHD I've also uploaded a zip with the install files - it's a drag and drop install, so just drop the files into C:\HyperDOS.

The VHD was created using VirtualBox 6.1.26.
