Graphical User Interface for MS-DOS
This is Norton Desktop v1.0 from 1992, arguably the best desktop GUI of the early 1990's.
This comes with a lot of additional features, including Norton Antivirus, Disk Doctor, Safe Format, Speed Disk and System Info.
The desktop is text based, not graphical, but it does a good job.
Has a reasonable File Manager and Menu system.
You can add groups or programs to the main menu and assign a Hotkey to run any program.
I found that after a few minutes it was like I was back in 1992 again.
This would have been a top shelf product in 1992 and probably cost and arm and a leg.
It worked well for me and the GUI and program execution is fast and smooth.
Download it and try it - I think you'll be surprised at how functional and fast this is.
The included Help is also excellent.
The GUI loads automatically on startup. If you want to load it again at C: enter "ND".
As well as the VHD I've also uploaded an ISO with the install files on 5 floppy images.
The VHD was created using VirtualBox 6.1.26.
